From Wiktionary under the GNU Free Documentation License. Medicine is the science and art (ars medicina) of healing humans. It includes a variety of health care practices evolved to maintain and restore health by the prevention and treatment of illness. Before scientific medicine, healing arts were practiced along with alchemical and ritual practices that developed out of religious and cultural traditions. The term "Western medicine" was until recently used to refer to scientific and science-based practices to distinguish it from "Eastern medicine" — which are typically based in traditional, story-told, or otherwise non-scientific practices. Contemporary medicine applies health science, biomedical research, and medical technology to diagnose and treat injury and disease, typically through medication, surgery, or some other form of therapy. The word medicine is derived from the Latin ars medicina, meaning the art of healing. Though medical technology and clinical expertise are pivotal to contemporary medicine, successful face-to-face relief of actual suffering continues to require the application of ordinary human feeling and compassion, known in English as bedside manner. We are having trouble finding an average cost for the medicine used with one. I realize that there different medicines that can be used, but what is the average cost we can expect for the medicine? Asked by SiC - Fri Jun 12 01:06:25 2009 - - 4 Answers - 1 Comments A. The actualy nebulizer is pretty pricy...from 100 to 300 hundred dollars and the actualy medicine itself actually is pretty cheep, about 55 dollars but it comes with 50 vial tubes and only one is needed in each treatment. THen again you need to see what your insurance covers because with our insurance the machine cost $50 and the medicine $22. Good Luck, hope you can find your answer! He is a 75 pound German Shepherd mix and we've had a hard time getting rid of his fleas. Also, how would you treat fleas in a yard? Asked by clkkk13 - Tue Oct 21 16:14:50 2008 - - 7 Answers - 0 Comments A. Revolution on dogs is a no no. A lot of new complications in dogs have been discovered. Many vets have all together stopped using revolution on dogs because the risks are so high. Try Frontline. Raid makes a good outdoor insecticide, works on fleas. You can find it at any walmart, but keep the animals out of the yard for 24 hours after spraying. Answered by Maguu - Tue Oct 21 16:30:01 2008 How do you make medicine from water hyacinth?

The antoxidative properties of water hyacinth leaves were investigated by evaluating the scavenging capacity of liquid extracts in a competitive protective process against oxygenated free radicals (OFRs) released via electrolysis in a phosphate buffer with a Pt electrode. Colorimetric measurements carried out at 515 nm, through a N,N-diethyl-1,4-phenylene diamine (DPD) assay, showed a decreased absorbance of the sample, as compared to the blank obtained by electrolysis of the buffer without plant extract, revealing, thereby, the presence of antioxidizing agents in the liquid extracts. The antioxidative activity was estimated in terms of equivalent-glutathione (EG, in nmoles equivalent-glutathione per gram of dry plant material selected (eg [cont.] Answered by Nerderella - Fri Aug 1 17:26:10 2008 From Yahoo Answer Search: "Medicine" MedicineFrom Wikiquote Jump to: navigation, search Wherever the art of medicine is loved, there also is love of humanity. ~ HippocratesMedicine is the art and science of healing.
